After being 50% through this book, I wonder if the author of fourth wing ripped off this book. It gives me fourth wing vibes but better than it could ever be. I think Yarros might have been inspired by this but wanted it dulled down rot the extreme with unnecessary romance. This on the other hand is pure perfection so far!

I love the world building but I really am not enjoying the romance. It’s just a bad trope, the whole enemy to lovers especially when he seems to be 200 years older than her. Just like TOG, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully we see less romance.

This is literally so good! I think it gives me the same vibes I got reading throne of glass and six of crows. Not to say it is like any of them but that vibe of diving into a well constructed world with so much lore. I love it and this might be another five stars from me

This is just bad. While the concept has not aged that bad, the writing and the non existent plot is just bad. I understand It’s geared toward 11-14 year olds but I feel like this is an underestimate of teenager’s intelligence. I will finish it but won’t pick up the rest of the series

I am almost a third of the way into this book and truly not much is happening. I wonder if TJR has lost her touch with these stories. It does read a lot like her but can she do anything more than some 20th century period books with flowery language.

I am pretty impressed at how well this aged. The way the author writes is very modern because she does not use any cringey slang from the early 2010s. I am enjoying the story and how fast paced it is.

I have been putting this book off for so long and I regret it. It’s fun, easy to read, and engaging. The only downside is I can probably predict the twist. I will update if I am right.

But in all fairness this nut case is into EIGHTH grader. I think most eighth graders are not into fellow male eighth grader who smell like sweat, axe body spray, Adam Sandler shorts that had not been washed in weeks! or at least that’s what I remember from eighth grade.

Read 70% of this book in half a day. The adventure takes off from the start and has not stopped. I am hoping for a strong conclusion to this trilogy

Omg! Fumiko is such an exhausting person to hear about. I cannot believe this woman is 28 and doesn’t take 2 seconds to think and analyze the situation before she speaks or acts.

The last 29% of the book was full of Caleb being in his head and things slowly going downhill. I think things are starting to come together by Caleb meeting new people and I sure hope it starts looking up for him.

The novel has become so intensely character driven that the narrator’s growing anxiety now dominates the story, often at the expense of the time travel premise that initially pulled me in. The focus is shifted toward this tension between the narrator and Graham which feels boring and and I find myself missing the bigger, more exciting ideas the premise promised.

The story is far more character focused than expected, centering on one displaced man and his helper rather than time travel mechanics. I expected more emphasis on how and why these people are brought into the present, but the novel instead leans into themes of identity, isolation, and the quiet strangeness of forming connections across time, making it feel intimate rather than high concept.

Finally got this book through libby after 2 months wait, LETS GO!

I am enjoying this book quite a bit actually. It’s a mixture of love island and survivor which is entertaining.

Chapter 14.5

Really interesting book so far. I don’t know how I feel about the “break the fourth wall narrator” but I am not mad at it and actually I liked the recap chapter.

I do wonder how the author will make sense of the title. Is it metaphorical or literal? We shall see.

I’m starting to think that mouse’s mother is Jeffrey baines’s wife and that mouse is her step daughter.

I am truly not sure what the heck is going on. The writing in some stories is a bit different in the aspect that words that are said are only italicized instead of in quotes like normal. I think it’s because it’s either happening in someone’s head or it happened long time ago. It also does not help that all the characters are unlikable. Just need to finish this book and call it a day.

This book is really frustrating in the sense that it seems predictable. Either Sadie is losing her marbles and like an idiot refuses to get checked or Camille is dressing up as Sadie.

Camille needs a job and to move on with her life instead of chasing a 40 something year old married man.

I think we have quite the unreliable main character. We also occasionally follow the most unrealistic and shallow minded Camille who seems to be aiming for Will (It’s making me think that her timeline is before they moved to Maine aka the affair) and mouse which I would not be surprised if It’s Sadie’s past.

We shall see what happens but this is looking to be a 1-2 star so far.

Agatha Christie with a twist. Loving this book so far. It does feel like a modern twist of Agatha Christie and I didn’t hear that we are following the editor who is reading Pünd’s investigation.

One of the best books I’ve read in a long while. This might be a new all time favorite. It is super rare for me to actually laugh out loud in a book. I think this will be a five star read.

Gosh darn! These two are dumb and dumber. My eyes had not stopped rolling.

Another straight couple trying to “fix their marriage” by opening up their relationship!

Prediction: ain’t gonna work

My God! Both Amanda and Ruth are useless. My eyes can’t roll to the back of my head far enough.

Naomi’s betrayal was foreseeable, but right now I am trying to just figure out what is happening. My theory is that Naomi is Ruth somehow and that Ruth and Amanda’s stories were happening at different time (maybe years apart). I just hope It’s not that because it will drag down my rate.

I picked up this book after reading Thirteen. The author is still doing the build up in anticipation for us to know how Amanda and Ruth connect. I must say I’m slightly annoyed about the inconsistent way the author wrote the time and dates. (Ex: seven twelve am and other is 9:13m. In page 88 he writes the date as “9/11 “and “nine/ eleven”). Small preventable mistakes disrupts my reading flow.
