Stacy is on page 104 of 384 of When Death Becomes Life: Notes from a Transplant Surgeon
I was recommended this book by a senior colleague at work, as she used to work at the facility where the writing surgeon performs transplants. So far, I'm liking the assorted histories, patient stories, and little bits of the author's personality that are woven through the book.

The title is super gimmicky, but the author's style is very personable and Millennial-friendly. Using this as a springboard to assess where I am finance-wise: I'm already doing a few of the things mentioned in the book so far, but there are plentiful excellent suggestions that I am currently thinking about, or have, implemented.

The author's writing style is so personable and relatable to me. Not many nonfiction/memoir/essay collections make me laugh, but I'm really jibing with the author's sense of humor so far.

I have packed this book away with the rest of my small library, so I'll be getting back to this one later! A lot of stories in here are decidedly spooky, so I might look for this book around Halloween if I haven't already moved and unpacked by then.

I packed this away with the rest of my books, so I'll have to come back to it. It's a bit of an academic read, which makes it harder to get through.

Found this in my mom's bookshelf, so I'm going it a try while all of my books are boxed up (except the Siddhartha Mukherjee one about cancer).

Hey everyone, I am still here! This year has been hard on me in various ways, and I think I am about to "fall off the wagon" of my ReadHarder challenge. It's been too stressful thinking of "I have to read this" or "I have to read that." Instead, I am going to try out friends' suggestions and also follow my own needs right now (looking for lighter or funny books to cheer my mood). Thank you. :)

Nearly done with this one! I have really enjoyed it so far. I think mysteries might be a new favorite genre for me! That, or the two novels I've read so far in the genre have been top-notch. I'm about halfway through the last disc of the audiobook. Might have to go for a scenic drive this weekend! ;)

Try as I might, I could not get into this one. The story had a lot of promise, but I didn't even make it that far in, because the writing itself was so clunky. I'm giving this one up!

Still really slow going on this one! I got to see part of the PBS series that was based on this book, and the "Magic Bullet" segment pretty much covered everything I had read up until now. I know this author's writing is so good, but it is so dense, I am not sure when I'll be able to make more headway!

I finished the 2019 ReadHarder Challenge! It's the first time I've ever completed a reading challenge ever, and I really enjoyed trying to find books that fit the prompts. I feel like it led me to reading more - and more diversely - throughout the year. I'm going to give it a try again this year! If anyone else wants to join in, just Google "Book Riot's 2020 Read Harder Challenge." Happy New Year, everyone! :)

Putting a lot of my reading on hold here until next year, due to school and other things. I might try to read one more book over winter break, but I'm so burnt out of non-fiction (work and school are both very nonfiction reading-heavy) that it will probably have to be a fantasy book.

I'm reading this on the recommendation of a hiking friend who's about to take her RD exam in the fall. I'm hoping to learn more about body positivity as a bigger gal, and am also hoping to learn about intuitive eating.

Really enjoying this so far! Reading it on recommendation from one of my old HIM professors at ISU. Engaging writing. May consider purchasing this book to finish if I can't finish it before it's due back to the library.

Guys! I only have one book left from my Read Harder Challenge 2019...and it's none of the books I'm currently trying to get through. I plan on ending the challenge with The Fifth Season, by NK Jemisin. I am not sure what I'll be reading after that, but I am open to suggestions!

Am debating on abandoning this book. Money books are not easy for me to get into, and I might just look up a too long, didn't read version of this.

Stacy is starting The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life
I got a little under halfway through this book and realized that it's not right for me. So far, it's been basically Buddhism Lite, and though his style is colloquial, it just isn't resonating with me, so I am giving it up to try other reads.

Just a quick update! I am getting over my reading slump. I'm also about to go through my long reading list and delete a bunch of things. Some of these came from a book list of classics, and while I still enjoy reading these, some of them also don't seem all too interesting. My goal, going forward, is this: read more, whether it is "classic" or not, and to give up on books that I can't finish or don't want to read.
