Technically, I read Book 1: Waterfall as a standalone, and I have 2 separate Kindle editions of that. I didn't have a single of #2: Cascade, so I switched my listing to this so I could keep my highlights. (Highlights are one reason why I prefer reading Kindle books.)

MaryAnn is finished with A Daring Sacrifice (An Uncertain Choice, #2)
I have no idea how it happened that I hadn't read this book in the series because I thought I had read them all.

MaryAnn is reading The Beautiful Pretender (A Medieval Fairy Tale, #2)
This is a tale of forbidden love, of a courageous woman, and of a fight for the right. The first half of the book was about the margrave's unwilling search for a wife among ten noble women. It was like a season of a bachelor reality show, only squeaky clean and more believable. The rest of the book dealt with resolving injustices. Yes, at times it was unrealistic and a little corny, but I still enjoyed it.

MaryAnn is reading Bathsheba: Reluctant Beauty (Dangerous Beauty, #2)
This story was told by both Bathsheba and the prophet Nathan. I liked that it added clarity to some of the Bible passages about David's later life. However, in my opinion there was too much of the story hinging on the fictional prophecies.

It was an easy, engaging read, but I have mixed thoughts and emotions on this one.

MaryAnn is finished with Centurion
Ugh. Confused at first, I quickly became immersed in and then turned off by this book set in 2099 southern "America". Sure, it helped me understand some of the political aspects of the life of Christ, but mostly, it offended me.

MaryAnn is finished with Against the Tide
I loved this book from the very first page. I wish I could have read it straight through, but it was easy to jump back into each time I came running back.
