DNF. I can’t overcome the death of a son in this phase of my life. Putting this back on the shelf for a couple years.

I think there should be an award for the longest time taken to complete a 192 page book.... Thank you. Please hold, while I polish my new award !

I'm so slow to read paper pages!!! Lol. But also this book is so good and I end up underlining and re-reading things to really soak them up.

Alejandra is 40% done with Ina May's Guide to Childbirth
I am in love with Ina, her research, and her enlightenment on other cultures birthing practices. Its healthy to remember my home country consists of just 4% of the total world population, and the other 96% of women in the world still give birth to healthy humans by often extremely different practices.

“Remember this, for it is as true and true gets: Your body is not a lemon. You are not a machine. The Creator is not a careless mechanic. Human female bodies have the same potential to give birth well as aardvarks, lions, rhinoceri, elephants, moose, and water buffalo. Even if it has not been your habit throughout your life so far, I recommend that you learn to think positively about your body.”

Alejandra is 76% done with More or Less: Choosing a Lifestyle of Excessive Generosity
I guess I read so much on getting rid of my excess, that many/most of these points that are maybe meant to seem profound are already in practice in my life. I am still intrigued by all of the stories and ideas.
Not sure if this book will be as significant as I had hoped.

The writing in this book is sooooo beautiful and colorful, but the story itself is still not fully pulling me in.
