I've really stopped enjoying this book and am finding it an incredible slog now. I think because I'm reading it as part of a group study that's taking way too long to get through it. There's not enough weight to it for me to take this long reading it, and i should have read it at my normal pace and just skimmed back for the study.

Listening to an atheist admit that to be fully human you have to be spiritual is honestly hilarious...and sad.

Chapter 3, Discover Mode and the Need for Risky Play was brilliant. Helpful to me both as a parent and in self-understanding. Worth reading this book for that chapter alone.

Just finished the Introduction and I'm already excited for this one. Doing double-duty on it, between an audiobook and library hardcover.

I wasn't expecting much of this... maybe an artsy, silly, too pretentious weekend read. I did not expect to be so profoundly uncomfortable in the best way. If anyone wanted to know what it's like existing under an authoritarian regime, I would recommend this. The (metaphorical) accuracy to my experience is startling so far.

My parents fought early and hard to ensure my brother and I would have a different story to tell our children, who will, in tur , be able to tell their own children a different story still."

Akallabeth...still a better conspiracy theory and cosmology than modern flatearthers.

"Unpack. Lay out the food, fire, and cookery equipment where they will be the most useful... Place imbibements everywhere, so that one's glass might never be fully drained; its important that the wood remain dry, not the cook."

I'm shocked that I don't want to put this one down.

Chapter 4 was incredibly helpful.

This is a very good book, and I am NOT enjoying it much.
