So far the writing is great, but the grammar is execrable. I'm trying not to judge, but it's hard!

Slow going, but my instinctive anxiety response to it is getting soothed, a little, as I go.

...also, "Anxious Parents". Wow, I hate the cover on this book so much. If I had the paperback instead of the Kindle edition, I would make a book cover for it. Hate. Hate. Also, I hate that I have to do this. But my child is in feeding therapy now, and it's exhausting, and we need help, and this is one of the things that the feeding therapist recommended, so here we are.

This is downright adorable! I will definitely look up other books by this author.

I was a HUGE fan of the podcast miniseries, so I'm enjoying this a lot! (Although it was kind of hard to pick it back up again after reading the Paladin series by Ursula Vernon, because I loved Paladin's Grace and Paladin's Strength with a passion that is unreasonable and then I had to go back to a book about SPIRO AGNEW!?)

THIS FUCKING BOOK IS SO GOOD THAT I AM ANGRY I AM ALREADY 53% OF THE WAY THROUGH IT AND I AM PROBABLY GOING TO READ IT AGAIN THE SECOND I FINISH IT.

This is an assigned book for the Ethnic Studies team I'm a part of in my son's school district, but I admit, I'm reading it cover-to-cover and not just as part of my assignments. As such, I may not read it FAST, but I'm very interested in the material!

This is more insight into cults and what defines cult behavior than about Trump, which is probably just as well, but I'm still exhausted by Trump books right now and need to make a shift in what I'm reading.

I'm trying to pry myself away from doomscrolling, and it isn't going great. Part of me is always going to wonder how the fuck people follow that guy, and I'm not sure I'll ever really get it, but the idea of it being like a cult seems like it has to have something to it (particularly with the Qanon crossover).

I have rarely rooted so hard for BOTH halves of a pairing before! They are both SO CUTE.

I wish I'd realized before getting this book that it's more career-oriented than I am, but if I'd stopped reading I would have missed Stacey Abrams describing Data and Kolrami's epic game of Stratagema, so that was worth it. Not far to go to finish now!

I've hit a point where this is so career-focused it's making me feel left out (as a SAHM with no career nor plans to get one any time soon). It's a little personally depressing, so I've stalled a bit.

ARGH ARGHHH. I've been accepting Rainbow House through the whole series as a vague teen hangout for queer youth and that's great, but "flies under the radar to avoid negative reactions from dickheads" is NOT SEATTLE. (Look up Lambert House! It's been around for 30 years!)

There's a big deal made out of the idea that in WA, people can be fired for sexual orientation. EXCUSE ME?! We made that illegal in 2006! This is not the first time that this author has totally blown it on Seattle culture, geography, and other such things, but COME ON. It took zero time to look that up.

So far this is MUCH better than the first one, except I'm docking it a star because in-denial-bestie just freaked out that he's eavesdropping on his friend having sex and turned on a Nazi documentary. I get that it's an instant turnoff for the character -- good! -- but it is also an instant turnoff for ME, at what should really be a great UST moment. Couldn't he have put on a documentary about puppies or something?

I got to about 42% and just cannot find my enthusiasm for it. I was secretly hoping for more bird content, and having found very little, I think I'm out.

Started this one after finishing "Boyfriend Material". I wasn't expecting to find another book I liked as much as that, but it turns out this is MARVELOUS, and I've inhaled almost two thirds of it in a day.

I am flailing with my love for this book. The main character is someone who could easily lose points for frequently overreacting and being a dick (out of badly-formed self-preservation habits), but I find him PAINFULLY relatable and endearing. The fake boyfriend trope is played to perfection. I would read 900 books by this author.

I'm trying real hard to get through this (primarily because I felt like a mental adjustment was what I needed to deal with remote kindergarten), but honestly, I'm finding brain science really boring. I'm struggling.
