I'm really enjoying Goodwood. I'm interested in the plot, I'm interested in the characters and I'm loving the portrayal of small-town Australia in 1992. The references to Reschs Pilsener, O'Cedar and Albion Park have been especially enjoyable.

I'm sorry it's bedtime because I just want to keep reading!

Well I leafed through the epilogue. Such a shame this book petered out in the last third and became a biography of Harry Black.

Hmmm. Getting a little bogged-down in the Harry Blackness of it all - there's a lot about his business ups and downs and personal relationships, which is a little trying. But I'm persisting. I have just deduced why the Breslin at The Ace Hotel is called the Breslin though, so that was worthwhile. I've not many pages to go now and am not sure I could be bothered reading the epilogue. Not a good sign.

I am thoroughly enjoying this book. I love reading non-fiction that has real love in the writing and this certainly does. I wish I had more time so I could not put it down! Better get a wriggle on if I'm to make my 25 books for the year

I'm thoroughly enjoying this book so far. Very engaging and easy prose (by which I mean readable, not facile) and the history of the Flatiron is given in the wider cultural context. I'm looking forward to reading more in a sec..
