books are part of our history, and as such should be left unedited for language or passages that would be a bit... 'questionable' today (and that's an understatement really), but i gotta admit that this one has a lot of unfavourable descriptions of the local flair.

not liking it so far, and it makes me sad, because i really wanted to like it. we'll see how we get on. i'll be finishing it because it's a book i marked as 'to read' for one of the GR bookmarks. it's fairly short too.

I'm moving thru this so slowly because it became my mass transit book that I read on the phone, and my commute has been decent. But I might bump it up to lunch break read to finish.

I like it, though the only cohesive element here is "winter". Other than that it's all over the place. Not BAD. Just... random.
