Surprisingly engaging for a thousand page tome on three millennia of Church history.

A magic system based on the linguistic dissonance of meaning lost in translation? Read while I just happen to be studying Ancient Greek — which the protagonist does too, as a fairly major plot point?

I was assigned this as reading for one of my MDiv classes by wow wow wow if this isn't a great parenting resource. HIGHLY recommend for Christian parents longing to instill a "sticky" faith in their children. Super grateful that I am reading this now, as the mother of an infant.

I ordered this book out of desperation at 4am. I imagine most people who order this book do it out of desperation at 4am somewhere in the middle of a sleep regression.

I'm putting this book in timeout already. An amnesia plot, Naomi? Seriously? I've never wanted to quit on a series so badly; it's been so inconsistent, full of excellent installations and terrible ones.

But 7 books deep, I can't bring myself to leave Termeraire before the end. So timeout it is.
