Ok. Starting this one over because I put it down for two months after chapter 40. Picked it back up the other day, got to chapter 51 and by that point, there were reveals happening that made no sense to me because I didn't remember enough of the little details from the first 40 chapters. It should be pretty quick to get back to where I was. I just need a refresher on who's who.

I am not at all into the polyamorous relationship aspect that is present in this, its really taken me out of the story. Its just not something I'm into, so hopefully it stays in the background.

Regretting staying up to 1:30 am reading this now that its 8:30 and I have to go to work, but damn how could I put it down. We're finally in the thick of it boys. The tension was palpable.

Am I a fucking moron that I didnt realize Gamelyn and Guy were going to be the same person?? All this talk about rivals and still, even as I considered the possibility in book one, I dismissed it. So now we're talking about a potential enemies to lovers trope and, obviously, buckets of angst. Sign me the fuck up.

I really can't see this having a happy ending which is seriously bumming me out. I was hoping that even though this is not a standalone it would still be contained enough that I wouldn't have to read the rest necessarily to be satisfied... but I see no way for that to be the case this much into the book. We are definitely in a calm before the storm phase right now. Hopefully, I'm wrong and just a pessimist.

I am enthralled with this book, but, does everybody but best boy Gamelyn talk in anything but fucking riddles???

To be honest, I am pretty confused so far on just wtf is happening and some of the language being used is quite unfamiliar to both me and my ereader. However, still, I am enjoying myself and curious to find out whats going on I guess?

I'm really enjoying this, which is great since I've read quite a few duds this year so far. I am just hoping this is actually fantasy in some way as its shelved as because I am using this for my last reddit fantasy bingo square, a retelling.

While the story has gotten progressively more interesting as we go along, its still not really doing it for me. I dont at all care about the characters and the plot is still not all that enjoyable.

Well, that didnt take long. The banned song thing made me wanna die a little, but I really am trying to keep an open mind and not roll my eyes out of my head while reading this as I have heard it gets better. Gee, I sure hope so.

So far, not a strong start. The author is pushing so hard on how great our 16 year old MC's wife is and how great their marriage is and how shes the only good thing in his life blah blah blah that if she doesnt get tragically killed that then probably catapults the MC on his revolution or something I'll eat a toad. Also, an illegal dance that his dad died for???? Wheres Kevin Bacon? Jesus Christ thats cringy.

Started this after midnight, figured I'd start the new years off right! But, man, I'm glad I came across the fact that there is a loose reading order for the Castle Rock books cause this spoils some shit from The Dead Zone in the first two paragraphs!!

This is only taking me so long because I keep getting distracted by Stephen King. I'm loving it, though and hope to finish it this week for sure.

I want to read Needful Things but there is apparently a loose order in which to read the "Castle Rock" books, starting with this. I'm not mad about it, I'm already quite enjoying it. Except for the dog killing like 20 pages in...

While I'm for sure enjoying this, it was a huge mistake to start this at the end of the year. I feel like this is a book that will be read slowly, but since I want to finish all my currently reading books before 2020 its stressing me out. I may put this on hold until the new year...

One of the most frustrating things in ya is the author feeling the need to shake things up between the love interests by having one character react in an unbelievably over the top way to something that, were they actually written like the adults they supposedly are, should be something that gets talked through and worked on to move past. This is an incredibly annoying turn of events to a so far very enjoyable read.

Picked this back up after weeks of sitting untouched and I'm actually enjoying it a lot more. Its nice to just read some fluffy ya as a bit of a palate cleanser between bigger books.

Having a lot of mixed feelings about this book. Hoping to be done in the next day or so, if I can stop watching the Great British Bake Off for one second and actually read.

I havent picked this up in like a week, but I am enjoying it so far.

My interest is really peaked as we're finally learning more about the bracers and the story seems to be ramping up.

Am having a very difficult time getting through Apt Pupil. I'm having a hard time seeing a point, and dont get me started on that cat scene...

Last check in I was ready to dnf, but then I realized it wasnt the book it was the audiobook narrator. Switched to ebook and am enjoying it again. Very glad I didnt give up on it.

I find myself unable to read this book for more than a couple of chapters at a time. Its all just so... horrible.

Finished Shawshank Redemption: 4 stars, good story that got me invested in the story and made me cry a few times.

I've reached part two! I am really into this book, I've really grown fond of Dan and if the story is about to go where I think it is, I cant wait.

Liked the reference to Charlie Manx from Joe Hill's NOS4A2 in the prologue!

This book is taking me forever to read. It just feels like 200 other books I've already read. There is nothing captivating at all about this story or characters.
