My wife & I are listening to this is our car. What a joy! Sure, it got great reviews but I had no idea it would be this good. The reader is so so so good!

OK, I bought it.

Will I finish it before it's due back at the library? Probably not -- it's not the kind of book one races through. I'm only 34% through. But then if I go back on the hold list it's likely to be several weeks before I get it back. I can't believe I'll remember who is who by then. So do I give in and buy it? So many tough decisions!

Not this audio edition but whatever. It's free from Audible so I grabbed it to cleanse my mental palette (which is rather hard to do inasmuch as I'm reading a book about Trump).

I read an obituary this morning of a woman who was a nurse in battles. “After a while, you learn to cope,” [she] recalled. Although she feared what the Germans might do to her if she was captured — she was one of only two Jewish nurses at the hospital, with an H for Hebrew imprinted on her dog tags — she adopted a realist attitude: “What will be, will be.” She was 101. I wanted to know more.

I'm dnf-ing this. It's interesting and well-written but I'm just not enjoying it. Maybe another time.

The Adobe Digital Editions app is terrible. For some reason the library doesn’t have a kindle readable version so I’m going to have to return this unread. Adobe has had countless complaints but I guess there’s no urgent reason for them to care. Ah well. There are worse things in life.

Needed a book to read on the subway so...

Goodreads recommendation: Because you are reading "Talk to Me" they suggest I might be interested in "The Communist Manifesto." Maybe the novel takes an unexpected turn?
