There's a very weird intertextuality going on between this and Possession and even having recently finished Dark Renaissance. Why am I reading so many books right now about the seedy underbelly of British academia (especially at Cambridge) and also why did Alice have to study linguistics at Cornell. That feels a little targeted 🙈
