This is SO good I’m sat

Found this one at the library - was enticed by the premise and the fact that it’s written by an Aussie, but this might be a DNF… such an interesting glimpse into a 2087 version of Aus with technological advancements/climate change as central themes but my god the protag is boring my brains out there is simply a whole lot of nothing happening

“So I had better say to myself, Go ahead and polish the silverware beautifully, then lay it out ready on the sideboard and be done with it. Because I polish it in my mind all day long—this is what torments me (and doesn’t clean the silver).”

The character voice was so captivating at the beginning and really propelled me through the first half of this but is getting a little tiresome now

Looking at a photo of your teacher while touching yourself in the bathroom, sure. Looking at a photo of your teacher and his small child while touching yourself in the bathroom… send help + the police

Already feeling like I won’t like this as much as Cleopatra & Frankenstein but we shall see

This is like reading a slightly more high staked Love Island, I’m having the best time lol

It was looking good but this plot twist might have me dropping a star bc it’s pissed me off

Such an important book, can’t believe I rated it 2 stars in school… protag wasn’t hot enough I guess x

I’m already itching to recommend this to everyone I know, having the best time

The writing style is tops

Ok this has taken a way more serious tone since my last update 20 pages ago: the hot young people are not doing hot young people things…. Still hooked though
