Sufficiently called out. lol

I'm listening to a playlist on repeat while reading and Frank Ocean's “Pink + White” has played a few times at appropriate times. (Both this book and the song are memorials for loved ones.)

In lieu of a Christmas gift, my mother goads me and my sister into being a part of her book club. To be reluctantly honest, I like her suggestions but rarely have the time to sit and read. This year, I've decided to make time.

It was a loud white male perspective with unnecessary details (why did it matter that the girl was being at the party) but as the chapters went on I found myself looking at areas of my life that could be improved from caring less and nodding along as he talked about emotional accountability. I read the audio book in the narrator did a great job at capturing the different accents and languages.
