I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish this. With the exception of the private investigator and his assistant, all the characters are awful. Not only terrible people but not interesting characters either.

Kier's story is predictable, repetitive and cliched. Erin's is better but I do believe I've suffered from not knowing the backstory from the first 2 books.

The author is venturing into the right wing political bullshit again. I'll give it 20 more pages to straighten out.

DNF - 50 pages of Darren being a whiny, drunken asshole was enough for me.

This has really started slowly. Nothing has actually happened yet. I don't care much for Melanie at this point.

This has turned into a slog. It started off good but really bogged down. Martin is getting harder and harder to take. There's too much stuff going on for the good of the story.

I'm trying hard to get through this book but it's difficult when you strongly dislike all the characters including Polly.

I really like the Alice Vega series but this one a bit of a slog. Dr. Caroline is just so darn unlikeable it's hard to read. The same with the other characters. I just want them all to get murdered. I will give it another 50 pages but it going to have to improve.

This is moving so slow. Nothing ever happens, unless you want to count Claire smoking. I just want to finish the book.

The author should change his name to Joyless. I had to step away from this book for awhile cause it is just too damn depressing. The writing is wonderful but as with his other books it is missing a critical ingredient, HOPE.

This is been hard to stomach so far. It reads like some kind of MAGA cartoon. If this doesn't get better soon I may be done with the series.

This isn't starting out very well. I'm going to give it to page 100 to improve.

Definitely Chick Lit. I don't think I'm going to be able to finish it. The next time she mentions how stupid she was for believing Kyle or how guilty she feels for absorbing her twin I am out of here.

Anna Pigeon books are hit or miss for me. This is definitely a miss. Anna is not the main character. Denise and Heath are the main characters and I can't stand either one. I'm almost ready to say screw it and move on. This reads like a very poorly written Lifetime movie of the week.

Well, now 338 pages into the book and thinking about quitting. It's really gotten stupid.

This thing is really bogging down. The Marshall/Jet fiasco is getting really old. Max just told Marshall about taking illicit photos of them so I hope it picks up speed. Nadine and Quinn are really the only decent people in the book. Everyone else should be killed.

The letters to the make believe daughter in the future started out as interesting but have grown tedious.

It's 1976 and they are driving a stolen Cavalier. One small problem...Cavalier's weren't available until 1982. Small details like that drive me nuts.

Only 45 pages into this but I already truly hate all the characters, even the preacher's kids. I really want to like it as it is set close to home but I have a feeling this will be DNF.

Ernt's antics have really went on too long. If I had another book to start this would have went in the DNF folder. The parts about Alaska and the rest of the characters are fine, but the toxic relationship between Leni's mom and dad has worn thin.

How did Tander the Third end up at Conway's house out of the blue? I am just baffled by this turn of events.

To start with the pretense of the book is absolutely ludicrous. Belle insisting on being incarcerated is about the dumbest thing I could ever imagine. If she really wanted to do the noble thing she would have helped her sister in her last few month and continued to make Acker's Gap more livable. Besides that the first 72 pages absolutely nothing has happened. It's just been the world's biggest pity party.

I can't decide of Joe is a good guy or a complete and total ass like his dad.
