There's a bit of good here -- Tuscan food, a dog -- but it's a little draggy yet.

Wow, this is really good. I am surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. (Maybe I just really like medieval historical fiction?)

Look, I don't even know, but this thing is utterly delightful and I don't want to spoil what made it so delightful but I am thisclose to just chucking all my other books and reading this whole series 'til the end.

I don't mind telling you that Thirkell gets the nature of young children exactly right in the most exasperating way. It's almost like you have a child next to you going on and on about their weird obsession. I think I might like this series.

Hi John Grisham is a terrible writer and I can't stop reading his books. What is WRONG with me.

After a LOT of time away, I'm picking up this book again. Funny how much of the Italian stayed in my brain while I took a break.

There is a major fat hate/diet/ED storyline in this; just putting it out there.

I fucking hate this book. It's a book club book though so I think I have to keep going at least for a while.

I could have kept reading this until I was done last night, but I stopped to get some sleep.

JFC, Becky Chambers has perfected the art of writing about what it means to be human in space opera form. I don't think it's possible for me to love this more than I already do. Maybe the final 25% will prove me wrong.

This isn't as bad as I thought it'd be! Very little rapey stuff, and some interesting progressive politics. Also, I forgot how much history exposition there was? I'm super glad I'm rereading this.

WELP the author is now talking up functional medicine which is quackery. Should I keep going or quit? Should I keep going or quit? Should I keep going or quit? ShouldIkeepgoingorquit?

I didn't have any alcohol in 2019, but then, I've never been a heavy drinker. I think if I had one drink every two months in the past, that was a lot for me.
I am on the brink of deciding to never have another sip again, just because it felt like nothing at all to stop. But also, I have secretly harbored a suspicion that alcohol is the most damaging drug known to man. And that it should be banned.
