God bless a book that can make me cry in Ormeau Park. I’ve honestly always struggled with putting the experience of those who came before us against my own struggles as a gay man (feelings of silliness that I can worry over something so small while our predecessors went through such bigger things). This play is going to wreck me and I’m both excited and terrified.

Reading this for the podcast, I believe it is longer than we anticipated but it seems really fun with all the multi-roles!

This is so extremely pleasant - I’m finding it really easy to (audible) listen to whenever I have a spare 5 minutes. Really love the cast so far, excited to see where the story brings them 🧡🧡

Laurie said this was cute and after The Mercies, I need something soft. So far its about an anxious gay man, so very relatable.

Who’d have thought that I’d even read audio books slow? This is immersive af, I’m intrigued to see how it ends though as it’s certainly been a slow build.

The plays in this one seem quite short so gonna give it a go reading one a day - just finished ‘Seven Jewish Children’ which seems to have a lot of anti-semitic discourse around it that I'm gonna have a read up on.

Chill morning (2:44pm counts as morning between Christmas & New Years). Want to read more plays next year.

been slowly bubbling away at this one. (also hi, I’m trying to use my GoodReads again.)

After SimonVs being one of the most influential books towards my personal life, it felt important to read the sequel and while the advice maybe isn’t as helpful being 21 as opposed to 18.... the story and experiences are still very on par with what it’s like to be young and figuring out your sexuality.

I like and am bored by this all at once. The two characters have an interesting relationship and at times I'm really really touched by how they act - at other times the pacing feels too slow (but that could be a side effect of having come from Bull) -- nonetheless, excited to see where this could go. I'm such a Penrose when it comes to the type of role I'd be cast in.

Need to power through this for my degree - so far I love the philosophy but it makes speed reading almost impossible.

I'm reading this as part of an anthology, but wanted to track my progress with each individual essay/book. (and it also pumps up my reading challenge so...) That being said, I've just finished Chapter 2: Commoditiy and I have to say that whilst I'm finding this tricky to decode, there are little moments of brilliance and beauty in Emerson's writing.
This text is part of my American Lit module, v excited to study it.

Just finished 'Bluebird' and reviewed it individually on my page. However, I must say that I also really like the intro to this piece. The idea that writing is very much learnt from experience is something I'd have to agree with.

This is definitely more abstract than I imagined, but I still think I like it. The themes are nice cause they're not something I've got to experience much in a play... There's some very good parts and some parts I just kinda wanna skip over, y'know?

I'm quite squeamish so I feel like I'm gonna end up resonating with Louis more and more - which I also know isn't the best person to be resonating with. That being said, I love the Louis/Prior dynamic and am REALLY intrigued by the opening act!
