RhC is reading This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden and the Battle for American Democracy
Disturbing and disgusted that I'm not surprised by the actions of the majority of the pols.

RhC is on page 825 of 1200 of The Sword of Shannara Trilogy (Shannara, #1-3)
Sword of Shanara is a blatant ripoff -- albeit, with nowhere near the same mastery of the English language -- of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy -- I'm surprised Brooks hasn't been sued by Tolkien's estate!
(meh) Two stars.

Elfstones of Shannara demonstrates the growth of a writer possible when given a second chance, time, and a lot of editorial assistance.
Good ending. Three stars.

That wraps up the first book, An Oblique Approach (Belisarius, #1) -- ended just as I started getting into the story. … Gonna take a quick SciFi break and continue with the second half, In the Heart of Darkness (Belisarius, #2) as soon as I finish James S.A. Corey's latest.

RhC is on page 172 of 459 of Master and Commander (Aubrey & Maturin, #1)
The writing choppy and disjointed when compared to Forester or Woodman. Also, in this first entry to the series, O'Brian goes a bit overboard in his descriptions and of the definitions of the types of ships, riggings, and functions -- to the point of reference material.
