Like mystery novels from Cuba (Padura) or Nicaragua ( ) there's not so much "who done it" guessing but rather painting a window into Spanish soccer, Catalan + Barcelona politics. I came to this book when I read that the author Montalban was the inspiration for the Italian mystery series Inspector Montalbano? Here the main character is Inspector Carvhalo. His pals Bromide and Biscuter seem mistranslated. Pelmazo?
