I really didn’t think people would die. I figured it was just a reference to Lily’s mother

You know if Sara weren’t such a bitch people would feel bad for her since her mom’s a real bitch herself.

Logically, Sara must be a red herring. But she makes the most sense- who else would Liliana care about protecting? Grey? Either Mariana’s murderer is dead, in which case why protect them, or alive and here. Or, of course, Mrs. Castle who would actually have been an adult. But she would have no motive? Unless Lily’s dad was her lover? There are no true clues yet except those red stains that aren’t blood.

These don’t feel like 30 year olds to me. But I suppose I’m close to 30 now

Honestly, it’s a trite premise and definitely shows the cowardice of some characters. We’ll see how that initial characterization goes.

I like the characters- they feel good and complex. Especially Beth. She has a special brand of immaturity, and she and Nicole are both pretty immature. It makes sense that Michael would be the most mature. Like Beth says- how can you grow when you’re in the same place your whole life? Not just physically- emotionally.

So I get why Jaren wanted to go… but he doesn’t have magic and it’s a dangerous climb. Wouldn’t Cal or Ashlyn have been the better choice? Especially Ashlyn. It would be a shitty argument to have but Cal should’ve had it with him. Honestly, it also would’ve shown his love for Kiva. Putting her safety over his own pride.

I almost cried. While Jaren’s pain is understandable, idk. Kiva has had such a hard life. She deserves more understanding than she got from him.

But also Evie has 100% gotta be the blackened good heart
