So confusing! What's real and what's not? But that ending!! So good! Almost saved it. But no, still too confusing.

Trying something different. And now I'm utterly depressed.

Loved it - none of the characters were annoying and all of them were so supportive without feeling fake.

Really enjoying this book!

I loved how close the 4 friends were! And I hated how it didn't recover after the betrayal. Still a really good read.

I really enjoyed the story - the sassy yet kind heroine was just too awesome! The friendships made my heart smile. Loved it!

WWII stories just make me so anxious and sad the entire time. I didn't much like the 2 sisters at first but admire them so much for their humanity and bravery. Such an amazing read that calls for lots of tissues.

Books about WWII always make me so nervous...

Ok time to try another adult non YA read...

I never quite understood why she hated baseball so much. It was also annoying how quite a few lines were in French and then translated into English...or not. I guess it was just ok.

I'm not too crazy about the heroine.

I really liked the story line and romance but it was a bit unbelievable how quickly they fell for one another.

The sex in the first few chapters turned me off the story. It was just so jarring that I put off continuing it for a bit. But then the incredible storytelling happened again just like the first book. The author did a great job reminding readers of events. I loved it! 4.75! =)

I really enjoyed this book because the heroine is so far from perfect - she's a normal teenager with an autistic brother - and I say that it's okay to feel embarrassed and want to not stand out. It's tough and I'm not going to judge - I just want to give her a hug and am happy she learned to be brave. 4.5!

I love it when the protagonist is so likeable without being sugary sweet.

I don't remember anything at all from book 1 other than I really liked it despite it having fae in it.

There were a few happy moments but the tone was just all wrong for me. 2.5

With such an awesome title, how can this book be so not awesome? I just hate it when they have teens smoking or doing drugs like it's a norm and acceptable.

Trying to branch out and read different genres. The story got a little exciting but mostly I did not enjoy the plot. I did not like the ending.

It was kinda good but nothing really stood out. And the ending was not that great.

I don't like politics nor mysteries. I picked the wrong book to read darnit. Didn't like a single character nor was I interested in the plot.

I really dislike how the older sister doesn't tell the younger one ANYTHING. Seriously, give her a clue or else she's just going to go and look for the answer herself and get into trouble. Come on!

The main couple is just awesome together!

Figures right after I say nothing happens something happens! And it got exciting! She started learning how to use her magic! But why did they have to kill off one of the characters! I hate when that happens! Why can't everyone have a happy ending? But I'm glad it was a duology. A pretty good read. 3.5

I vaguely remember the first book. I don't think I liked the main heroine...but it's on so many people's list of books to read so I caved! Yea, still not liking the main girl. This far in yet nothing has happened really....

Most YA romances are just the right amount of sweetness and romance. This one was a little too immature for me (the main guy was just not that likeable and the girl just ok) - I guess I should looked more closely at the rating. Ah well. Can't win them all.

It was a pretty good story but I didn't really fall in love with any of the characters. The Returned's flippant attitudes really annoyed me too. 3.5

I really like Sanderson's stories but his sarcasm/wit tends to detract from the overall enjoyment.
