DNF. I felt this author was more interested in word crafting than crafting fully formed ideas. I wasn’t sure at times what the book was trying to communicate and I’m not convinced it was always sure either?

I'm like 5% in and so far the author has used the word "rude" about 18 times.

DNF due to the blatant and incessant fatphobia. Byeeeeeee.

This world is so richly imagined it feels like reading a memoir. I want to stay here.

Early in the book he states how he was handed a job and therefore learned early on that if you wanted something you had to work for it. In the next sentence he writes about how he shoplifted. I'm not sure if the author is truly this un self aware or if it's just bad editing?

I guess I wish I had known the author was a Smoothie Bar CEO™️ before reading. The self indulgence and lack of real self awareness is evident throughout, from the celebrity name dropping, to the implausible number of times he has been rescued or handed opportunities on a silver platter, to the stories of nurses and doctors breaching privacy and presumably putting their jobs and licenses on the line to help him.

Do I HAVE to finish it?? 😩
