Soar to Destiny, the collection of short stories and novellas that accompany Tara Grayce’s War of the Alliance series, is EXACTLY what I was needing! It gave me the moments I had hoped for in their series and answered some questions. The only thing missing is what Essie “had handled” with Ellie and Tryndar. I’m so satisfied and happy!

This time of year is so hard. What to read? I don’t want to not finish something that I start and have it split over two years. So I end up reading old favorites usually and even not reading for a few days to avoid bridging the years. I’m overthinking this aren’t I? 🤣

Oh my word I thought Paratore was evil in Rivers of Time. And he was but Ercole… there are no words.

I sometimes struggle when authors try to tell us what a biblical character was doing or thinking or feeling to make their point. Like here with Moses. He hid in the desert because he was scared and he resisted because he was scared. I don’t think Bethke’s thoughts are right here. Interesting but not right.

For the first time since I've done GR challenges, I've spent pretty much the whole year either "on track" or even "1 book behind". It's a weird place to be and I'm not used to it :) I know I'll catch up eventually but this whole "slow reading thing" is foreign to me.

It’s February and that means it’s time to read The Dating Charade by Melissa Ferguson and No Chance Meeting by Jaye Elliott!!

I can’t really believe I’m reading more Baxter books but one of the things I love about them is that they are set in Bloomington and Ann Arbor. I could go to independence lake tomorrow if I wanted to! It’s just so fun!

I can’t help but feel like some of this is Steve’s fault. Like Addison was too young and unprepared to be king. Or that he needed more guidance in these early days and years than he got. I love Steve, don’t get me wrong, but I am thinking he has a bigger role in this mess than I’ve thought about before.

Here we go! My heart is not ready for this!!!

My enthusiasm is waning. I am starting to wonder if my curiosity to see how things work out will be enough to push through.
