Why am I both entertained/invested, and wondering how I’m still barely halfway through?

I signed up to be able to read the first 200 or so pages of this book and let me tell you…

Pain.

I’m so glad it’s out now and I can finish because once again Jay Kristoff proves he’s a phenomenal storyteller. The pacing in this series really makes me happy. Definitely a book I highly recommend and can’t wait to keep reading!

DNF audiobook - will try either ebook or physical copy at some point.

Can we take a moment and appreciate that we have a strong female protagonist with real reactions to traumatic moments? So far in this series, Avery feels like a very realistic character which makes it even easier to be drawn into the story.

Might be crazy to be five books in and just saying this, but this is the book that is cementing this series as a favorite for me. The audio is spot on and I’m just having a great time listening!
