Julie Dykstra is starting Alice I Have Been
I’m definitely creeped out by the early chapters.

Julie Dykstra is 50% done with Mary Colter: Architect of the Southwest
Fascinating history of a female architect/ designer who was influential in creating artistic buildings and interiors in big city railway stations and western National Parks. Her unique approach to design honored the landscape and highlighted the art of indigenous people. This book includes a lot of interesting detail about early tourist travel to the American West before highways were built.

I'm going to have to force myself to finish this book.Book club selection. I can see some good discussion coming from it, but very over-stereotyped. Lots of language and shallow sexual encounters. I would prefer a book based on real life people and their experiences with racial stereotypes than this fictional fluff. My favorite character is the curious, imaginative child Briar!

Julie Dykstra is finished with Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China
It helped me understand he political changes that took place in China during the 20th century, through the eyes of a three generation family who suffered much. I love learning about history this way! It was a long read, not always easy, but persoistence paid off!
