Yeahh i dont think i can make it through this. It's so het focused, which okay i expected. But it just compared Boston marriages to two modern day close female friendships without even acknowledging that gay women exist(ed).

So I forgot pretty much this entire book. You'd think the incest would have stuck out for me, but apparently not.

Oh that body horror content warning was not kidding. The second or so scene is brutal to listen to. Poetically written, but *shudders.* Readers be warned. Pushing through so I can review on NetGalley.

I had no idea going in this was a lesbian fantasy with a happy ending. But it was and it made my heart happy

For some reason it dawned on me to look up some of the authors/artists in the book and I quickly realized that not a single one of them is from Africa. That seems kind of off to me, but no one else in the reviews seems to have noticed, so I'm not sure if I'm being too picky. It is a part of a series that started with Eurocentric fables, but shouldn't they have tried to get African storytellers involved in some way?
