The hard thing about this series is the writing gets better as the books go on but the story gets messier. It’s a weird balance.

I’m like 100 pages into this wtf-that’s-creepy-you-all-need-therapy of a book. But I can’t hate Zade for what he does when he’s not being a stalker. Props to my man for putting that twisted moral code to some good.

I have never read so many descriptions of a man’s facial expressions in my life.

I’ve been trying to read this book for an hour and only gotten 10 pages in. There is so little explanation for anything that I have no idea wtf anything is. I get showing not telling but damn this takes it way too far. If I didn’t have to read this book for a grad school assignment this would be my second EVER DNF.

SO excited to finally get into this. I got my ARC a month ago but have had a HUGE stack from the library I needed to get through first.

This reads very much like a first novel. I’m a third of the way into it and I like the idea a lot, but the execution isn’t great. The world-building is all over the place, and the explanations /descriptions are the same. I’ll definitely finish it as I’m enjoying it, but it definitely has issues.
