Well, now Faith is getting a conscience about Will getting away with what he did to Simkov so maybe I judged this too soon.

Amanda: “The constitution is for innocent people.” Then: “[Assholes have rights] only if they’re United States citizens.” WTF? I’m starting to sour on this series. That’s too bad, because it is 90% great! But this is the kind of thing that pisses me off about cop series. I thought this would be different.

Faith is irritating me. Regarding a prison inmate’s murder: “[Faith] felt a lightness in her chest, a relief the man had been punished, a cop’s widow spared a lengthy trial.” Because screw due process. And she apparently doesn’t like journalists, which bothers me, since part of a journalist’s job is to hold cops accountable. I guess Faith believes accountability shouldn’t apply to the police. 🙄

I’m not a medical expert but I’m pretty you can’t diagnose type 2 diabetes with a single blood test unless your blood sugars are greater than 200mg. I don’t think a single 152 reading is sufficient. But what do I know?

This story is so fast-paced. I'm having a difficult time putting it down.

I'm not normally a fan of swords-and-shields type of high fantasy (just give me some modern technology), but this story is really drawing me in.

Oh this book is so addictive.

I still don't know how much I buy the premise, but the story is pretty good this far.

Okay, I'm loving this so far. And I LOVE that something major happens right at the beginning. No boring exposition set up.
