Inconsistent characterization got in the way in enjoying this book

Hooked already. This book is pure magic

Delightful

We, women in America, take so much for granted. “But we will grow to be lionesses. Strong women who make things as happen.”

Staying at West Baden under the magnificent dome is an experience. I feel like I’ve entered another world somewhere between France and Wonka’s factory (minus the chocolate river). It’s a hidden gem in Indiana of all places. I was skeptical that a mystery novel set in the hotel would live up to a five star review. I was hooked from the beginning and was transfixed until the last page on 501.

Beautiful writing

This was magical for me. The combination of Ann Patchett’s writing and Meryl Streep lyricism made for a beautiful experience as I reflected on my own three adult daughters and how they were the best decisions of my life too❤️

This charming book is bringing me such joy this week. The humor of a curmudgeon octogenarian in a nursing home is delightful. Plans to start a scooter club or discover who's killing the fish in the tank with cake is a welcomed distraction from global and economic concerns.

This is by far one of the most beautifully written books I've read. I'm obsessed with it
