#8 - the trauma of having an evil dad can only be cured by love, apparently.
#9 - racism is bad. Racist vampires are worse.

#7 - puberty is a weird time, but having supportive parents is important. In general, having your family validate you and take your side is necessary in a time when you're still figuring out the world and who you are. Also, eating men.

#6 - never trust the oil people.

#4 - strong voice. The aunt teaching the protag to hate her dad even though he was under a love spell and left when it was broken is messed up but makes sense. What also makes sense is everyone getting caught because they're literally eating ppl a walking distance away from the village.
#5 - wholesome story about grief and finding your place.

#1- the worldbuilding is weak, even for a short story, but the point is pretty clearly communicated.
#2 - leaves a lot of questions, but not in a satisfying way. Feels incomplete, like ideas weren't thought through.
#3 - clear worldvuilding, character, and message. Concise and punchy.

About half-way in. Really enjoying the domestic complexities. Everyone is getting gently roasted by the narrative, and I'm thriving.

We jump right into the weirdness.

This would make a really decent horror film!

Moomin & Family Life: Moomin finds his parents in the lake, then they run away to a cave, and Moomin lives in a tent with Snoofkin. Aunt Jane comes over after getting a pack of swearwords from the Moomins, and Sniff extorts her, but in the end they're one big happy family.

Moomin & the Brigand: Young Moomin is besieged by relatives. Then he and Sniff attempt some schemes and end up in jail, then get their fortune read, then get swindled? Then Moomin meets his GF? It's an odd story.

Palpatine "subtly" trying to get Anakin to leave Obi-Wan behind is amusing, but then you see Obi-Wan truing to get Anakin to leave R2 behind, and suddenly the parallels hit.

Well, I was actually invested in the lightsaber fight. Kudos.

Wow, Dooku is super speciest. Good to know. But at the same time he gets misty-eyed about *clench fist* the Empire! And surprisingly sentimental about Obi-Wan.

That's it? Like, the motive is good, but they had zero evidence, so he just grabbed the gun and outed himself? Why? Maybe if we knew more about him as a character. Ugh.

He didn't know she was in love with him?! Idiot.

This is a great example of a story unfolding, taking its time. Very pleasant.
