This is very poorly edited. Not just the usual repetitiveness (though it is also plentiful), entire word for word sentences appearing on the same page levels of poorly edited. This is likely a skim-read.

I might not finish this. Too ridiculous and maybe not in a good way.

So listen, I did consume all the audiobooks for the intervening books in this series, but I didn't track them because I am an inattentive audiobook listener and so can't feel certain I got everything. But the wait for the next audiobook is interminable and so here we are.

These stories are killing me. I can only do one a day, lest my heart fracture to pieces.

I'm not sure how I picked up the young adult version but the introduction doesn't seem at all pandering so I will stick with.

This is a no judgement space, ok.

No solicitation. No visitors. No quests.


It's become a mantra, an incantation, a lullaby.

A thing that makes me preorder books...

Ok yeah, no, I can't manage that right now.

This is going to be a placeholder for both Exodus and Children of Glass, because the former is too short to count for a whole book.

These stories/excerpts are definitely variable in quality but I just read "the three story bungalow" and ... Really? No editors? Anywhere?

It is profoundly distressing to read this and see my darkest and shadowy feelings suddenly put into words. And then a strange sense of shame, because if so many people feel this way, why do I find it so HARD. Anyway. Might take a while to get through because every few pages all I want to do is cry.

This is indeed sorrowful in the sense that every definition is an ache. And maybe I'm too sad already. But also beautiful so I will press on in small doses.


Also I am building my 2025 reading list and if you have any great books with titles that start with J or K...

There are author gaps too but I can't remember right now.

I have to admit, I despaired of ever finishing this and skipped the whole section of essays on religion due to lack of interest in that particular debate. I think I can get to the end now, and I will still call it done. This book is a monster.

Everyone needs a romantasy chaser after books about the plague.

A re-read for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

Listening to the audiobook. Thoughtful and soothing, so far.

David Attenborough is ninety nine years old and still writing books! May I find such passion.

Or read a book...

I am not sure this author has ever conversed with a human being.

I gave myself an alphabet challenge for authors first names. Q is a challenge. Also I am doing the library's adult reading club and one of the squares is read a book you think you'll hate and...well it isn't my genre of choice so I am interpreting this as eligible.

Started this one as another migraine audiobook, but was a bit more with-it this time. This is *funny* and I am looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Not 100% sure i should count this one as I dozed through much of the audio book while trying to kill a migraine.

An odd sort of a comfort book. But I need the gentle bleakness.

Needed a chaser

This is not as light as I wanted it to be, and there is something slightly alienating about the writing.

This is very good and as thoughtful and full of grace as you'd expect Sen. Sinclair's writing to be.

But reading it at the same time as Whitehead's Underground Railway is a lot of heavy all at once.

I mean ... it's very good but maybe not for my anxiety. I'll try and finish it during the day tomorrow.

This is very charming and much better for bedtime than Jeff Vandermeer.

I am struggling with this one. Put it down to pick up some books with due dates and haven't yet felt like picking it up again.
