So far this is your classic average 'magical' story where the MC doesn't know/believe in magic but their parent is magical and they instantly have a new magical group or person that they hang out with who tells them about the magical world. I've read something very similar to this except that book had more originality. So yeah not the best :')

Updates on this book since I didn't do any:
~I'm in awe of all the kids in Shane's group, specially Kelly. She's amazing.
~I cannot express my hate for the government for causing this whole mess and thank god this isn't real.
um…that's about it, it's time for the battle now and I'm not looking forward to seeing more lives ended- yet I can't take my eyes off this book.

Rating- 4 stars
In the first part of the book, I wasn't all into the story. By the middle, I loathed the book(for the most part). And by the end, I had forgiven the book. The end was pleasantly, surprisingly good. My favorite character? Howard Randal. I like him since the beginning.

syesha is 43% done with Cause to Kill (Avery Black #1)
Done with chapters 10-15. So far I've read:
1. The POV of Avery Black(4 chapters)
2. The POV of the killer(1 chapter)
Notes:
1. These characters arent the most likeable, but they're not total goners. There's still a little faith I have in them to become a little more likeable.
2. It seems that we may have 3 different cases on hand.

Finished reading chapters 6-10. So far I've read:

1. All these chapters through the POV of Avery Black. I don't like Avery that much, because she is portrayed as this perfect being that can understand what anyone is thinlingand going through, and can crack anyone. Not the most easy-to-relate-to character.

The story itself isn't that interesting, either.

Just finished chapters 6-10. What I've read:
1. All of these chapters were shown through the POV of Avery Black. I can't say I love her, because she's shown as some perfect person that understand what everyone is feeling and can read anyone. Not very likeable or relatable.

The story itself isn't that interesting, either.

syesha
syesha is 15% done with Cause to Kill (Avery Black #1)
Done with 5 chapters. So far, I've seen the POV of:
· Cindy(college student, gets killed in chapter 1)
· Avery Black(investigator, unread backstory drama, investigating Cindy's death)
· The killer(No name or much information, gave a hint about something fictional)

This is a fast-paced, engaging read.

I'm not totally hooked, but I'm not repulsed by the book either. So, so far, so good.

This was actually a really great book. It had much less gramatic errors than the last book I read by her, the concept was really unique, and it was an engaging read. The only thing I didn't like was Devon and Rae's ship at the end of the book.

I'm reading a book that sounds scarily similar to our situation. 1) There's a virus that spreads all over the world 2) it's really hard for scientists to find a cure- and when they do, they learn somthing new/the virus mutates 3) the ones affected are quarantined, and ones that are not have to stay at home…0.0

Rating- 2.5 stars.
The romance between Taylor and Jesse was cute, but I wanted to at least a thing or two about who Tylor really is. Cause thats what the book is SUPPOSED to be about. Instead, all I read about was Taylor and Jesse's relationship and broken, sudden bits of what was, I'm guessing, supposed to be a plot.

Taylee may act like a brat, but, even though she's always sassy, you can still see, from the beginning, that she cares. This books internally broke me completely. I'm definitely buying the rest of the series.

Sarah's attitude was just bleh. She refused to believe that she was in another era and yet believed in Bigfoot so much that she based her living of off it. The writing was fine, no grammatical errors.

"A breeze whipped around her shoulders. As she shivered, her skin rippled into goose-bumps. Sarah would have killed for her leather jacket."
Why the sudden noun in between?

The concept of the book is great, and it would've gotten 5 stars but there were a lot of grammatical errors. So many that it made me take off one star because it frustrated me a lot. Otherwise amazing.

There's a huge crisis going on, could be terrorists or worse, and Farris and Oliver are joking around about homecoming?? I mean, come on. Farris' father, the only parent she has left, has to take care of the crisis, in which he may die, and she's worrying about homecoming? Wow.
