It’s as if the author wrote a massive spreadsheet with every possible storyline for her characters and then hit “publish” before paring it down.

I truly can’t wait for this book to be finished.

Good lord this book is long

“The most impressive monsters are always the least impressive men”

This might be the saddest book ever. It makes me want to hug every veterinarian I’ve ever known.

I tried, but did not finish. I’ll leave this book at 48% and will admit that I’ll never return.

This was the absurdity I needed to help clear my mind after my last read.

I really hope this is good! I had not realized that the book was 23 hours long!

I made the mistake of beginning this book while in a public place. I’ve collected myself and will begin again at home.

Not sure if this is the best follow on to Hanna Gadsby’s book or the worst.

One MUST do this one on audio. Must.

Was lucky to snag a copy of “Melissa’s Story” from the library during Banned Books Week.

I’m in the middle of a multi part move and had managed to forget that I had checked this book out from my library. I’m currently filled with joy as I see I still have a full week left on my digital download.

Fred is exactly the voice I need in my head right now.

The writing is wonderful but I’m struggling through this book. I was force fed a few too many Dust Bowl stories while I lived in Oklahoma.

My mother suggested this book to me. She said she’d enjoyed it even though it wasn’t what she might pick on purpose. Now I’m wondering how she picked this book at all!

Audiobooks are real books!

The paper version of this book seems to be filled with photos, as is to be expected from a celebrity memoir. Instead of mentioning them and moving on or including a pdf file of those photos, both of which are common ways to accommodate the audio format of a book, this author mentions the photo and then recommends that the reader “buy the real book.”

So much abuse.

Oh man, the narrator on this book outdid himself! (He narrated his own book, of course.) I’m reading just because I’m in a lull between books and this should be fun and fast.

I’m putting this book aside again for now. 20% in and it just isn’t grabbing me. Too many other books to read right now.
