Just finished Chapter 17.

I know there won’t be a story if the characters just openly communicated all the time. At the very least, we get a novella. But i guess my age really shows now because this “not talking about stuff” trope just bores and frustrates the hell out of me. It drags on for way too long, that by the time the book is almost over, we only get two pages of unadulterated happiness and romance.

Just finished Chapter 15.

Why does it feel like this book is moving very slowly, but also has a lot of things going on. I’m getting a little bit impatient.

Just finished Chapter 13.

Finally, we get to the dog part. Tulip is finally introduced, the main reason i started reading this book in the first place.

Honestly, the hot-and-cold and the lack of a proper conversation between Gavin and Mac is getting a little tiresome. And these are adults, she’s supposed to be 32, and yet behaves like they’re still in high school. I don’t get it.

Just finished Chapter 8.

I thought we're gonna get more Gavin POVs, but it has mostly been Mac's. Anyway, i like the pace, and loving the direction the story is going.

Just finished Chapter 4.

I was not expecting to get Gavin's POV of the story, but here we are. I'm loving the book so far, and i hope this POV shift does not slow down my momentum.

Becky rambles alot. In her head. It’s… annoying. I love dogs, and have two, and Bella the cockapoo is winning me over, so i hope Becky doesn’t ruin this book for me.

Two chapters to go, then it gets interesting?!

Finally, some movement. Some progress. It’s still the same old monologue, but the settings change. Also, i like that it’s one POV all throughout, all from Madison’s end, so not knowing what goes on in Tyler’s mind makes it sort of easier to put one’s self in Madison’s shoes.

Repetitive, i said. Repetitive. Halfway and still no conflict, nothing exciting happening.

I'm already thinking this could have been a shorter book. Madison goes on and on and on and on about things that are happening in her life and at some point gets repetitive. Almost halfway through the book but no significant progress in her situation still.

It’s starting to feel a little grating. Madison is getting on my nerves.

I’m starting to like the story, but i’m still not quite fully there yet.

Cute and sweet so far.

I like that this book is shaping up to be a story about falling in love with one’s true self first, before opening up to falling in love, romantically, with another person.

I usually like slow-burn romances, but it doesn’t work for this book. I hoped The Intimacy Experiment would be a worthy follow-up to The Roommate, but it’s starting to look like it’s gonna fail on that front.

Chapter Nine. I just finished the Sydney half of this book, and let me tell you, i'm quite torn about how Lucy is behaving. So okay, we were made to think that maybe, just maybe, James was indeed cheating on her, and that he was painted in a less-than-admirable light because of his penchant for "white lies". Given that, we already have an idea their relationship is headed for a break-up.

12 chapters in 12 days, and i’m not even halfway finished. Title and premise seemed very interesting, but i’m finding myself bored. Lydia, the main female lead felt ordinary, not even a trace of quirkiness or humor in her. And there doesn’t seem to be anything swoon-worthy about Danny, her leading man. I don’t have a DNF shelf, and i don’t wanna start one, but this book just might make me go back to my reading slump.

Starting the month of May with this one.

Re-reading another favorite. :)

Loving the book so far. I just think that 6 whole chapters to tell a day’s worth of events is too much. Given there was flashback too, that’s fine, but there’s a lot going on in Ava’s head that drags the pacing a little.

I feel like i’ve been reading for hours now, and i’m still not done with this book. And i don’t mean it’s because the story is dragging. It’s just a glaring difference between the romance novels from over 10-20 years ago and the romance books of today, which i have been reading a lot of for the past few weeks.

Nolan Brooks reads and watches true crime documentaries. I’m in love. :)

I don’t care much for Cooper as a main lead, because he’s a horndog, but Caroline is worse. She’s too demanding and scared to take risks, then when things go wrong (or right) blame everything on Cooper.

Premise is great, but the execution is kinda falling short. It does not bode well for this book when, more than halfway through it, i find myself preferring to read a continuation of Loathe My Neighbor than finish this.

A quarter of the book was dedicated to just one day, the Sunday that “changed everything”. Sure, a lot happened. But it now feels like it's going to be one of those quick romances, where they fall in love in just two weeks.

Let’s start a new series, shall we?
