this book is a great example of why we ought to read diverse authors because I have thought/learned/reflected so much on the teachings in here that I had no idea would penetrate, and I really think that's the power of her voice

damn I am blowing through this book... basically read it straight for at least 4 hours yesterday.

slow start (and very slow burn!) - there was a lot of mythology and world building here, that I think would be hard for people who haven't already read the other books in this series - but now it's good!

this book is going by really quickly! i know there is a twist so i keep guessing what it is... let's see if i'm right!

anthony/his arc is annoying and so typically classic white man perspective. I am liking all the different ways to approach this "what if" concept so far. I also like how this is somehow able to tie into even real conversations today about gun violence, race, class, LGBTQ+ rights, and more.
