Started this like a week ago and tried picking it back up and I’m wondering if it’s me or the book but I’m thinking it’s the book… it is not very good.

I’m gonna be real this book is not hitting like the first one it’s pretty boring

Buddy read! Re-read in my case. It’s so interesting reading this again because the slow start that explains the family history and dynamics and sets up marriages really does make sense now given the events of the rest of the series

update boring again :/

ok it picked back up shortly after I was complaining about it getting really boring (about 40%) so yaaaaaay

was very interested in the beginning but now it’s gotten quite boring. There are also little blips of random character povs and I’m sure they will get connected eventually but it adds to the boring factor unfortunately

the fact this book, a nutcracker retelling, was published in the summer is bizarre but I’m glad I waited to read it until December

all Samantha Shannon knows is inflicting untold amounts of suffering upon select characters. sick and twisted
