After about 1/3 of Black Hawk, I shelved it. Not that it wasn’t interesting because it was quite interesting actually. It turned to be historical scope on far more than I wanted. Lots of coverage of American military, forts, politicians, battles and so on, but not so much of Chief Black Hawk who may not have been a chief but Sauk leader with many followers.

Reading Crow Lake again because I found it in a hospital volunteer library for $2, and it is already a favourite of mine.
