I’m rereading this book after several years, and it’s reminding me why Horowitz is one of my favorite authors: he delivers extremely direct (yet eloquent) societal critiques, but they never take you out of the story. For example, Watson is currently contemplating why he never wrote about Holmes’s criminals after their arrests: “I did not care. It was not part of my narrative.”great read so far (again)

Listening to the audiobook narrated by John Lee. Highly recommend if you’re familiar with the story! But, if you haven’t read it before, the audio is probably harder to follow than a physical book.
