I read this one because my 4th grade granddaughter read and enjoyed the story. I like to read some of her books so that we can discuss them together. I thought this was a cute story . The protagonist runs away from home and survives quite nicely in the wilderness by harvesting wild plants and game. He manages to overcome the seasonal elements and even trains a young falcon to hunt.
