I'm not sure if this is the right page (reading on Kindle) but HOLY MOLY HOT DOG HARRY LEARN OCCLUMENCY ALREADY I CAN'T STAND ALL THE TIMES WE ARE RETURNING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MYSTERIES LIKE WHY AREN'T YOU HEEDING THE MYRIAD OF WARNINGS FROM THE SMART ADULTS AROUND YOU ASJDKFNAOWEROi but I guess it's better than him turning on Ron and Hermoine constantly in outbursts of rage....................

Aaahhh. Our protagonist... the secondhand embarrassment is so real... someone put us out of our misery lol

Inara... my goodness gravy, she is such an unrelatable, unbelievable, and unreliable narrator. I am still holding on for a twist!!! Please let there be a twist!!! Also loved it when Victor's partner put her in her place. That was extremely satisfying. :3

Still not entirely convinced that this book is for me… pretty much forcing myself to keep going…

Gaaahhhh this narrator… and some of the adjectives… must… keep… going…

This is better than the first time I read it… interesting how our perspectives shift over time.

A bit slower of a read than Nothing to Envy, but still good so far.

A slow descent into madness… I feel it coming on… when will the pin drop? When will she succumb fully to the darkness that has crept around her so imperceptibly, so stealthily, and yet so completely?

Interesting plot line so far, but man, I am SO SICK OF ALL THE UNNECESSARY DESCRIPTIONS. Like why does Hilderbrand go so in-depth about food, of all things!? Not just food, but it’s as if everything in her book that could use an adjective or two just ends up with fifteen instead. Like, I get it. I get it. My momentum with this book is showing down, for sure…

Re-reading for the first time in a few years. I started it today and could not put it down—I’m finally forcing myself to stop and get some sleep haha. I’m instantly sucked in and I just want to be right by Lou and Will’s side...

Dang... I am completely and utterly head-over-heels for not only this book, but for Morrie. I want to mull on his words until they become a part of me. I want to see the world the way he sees it. I want to live as if I were dying.

“‘He has to face far worse things than any sight or act I could come across; he can bear it—and so can I.’
“Truly the war has made masochists of us all” (154).

MY HEART. Oh my gosh, Brittain is brilliant: “‘I can scarcely bear to think of him ... and yet I cannot bear to think of anything else’” (133). She is so honest not only with the reader but with herself. I admire her deeply.

Holy moly... I’m pretty engrossed in this novel. Britain uses some pretty big words and lots of analogies that I don’t understand, but I just skim over those and focus on the story. She also drops some truth bombs that really resonate with me, spec. about how war/calamity didn’t affect her social life/friends because it was never at their front door.

Pretty good, still waiting to get to the romance. Although I know the book isn’t supposed to be centered on that... I can’t help it. Romance is the best ;D

Why do I feel like Cline is just rubbing his vast nerd knowledge in my face? Why does this feel so pretentious and forced? Where is the story? What is with this?

Hm... I’m having mixed feelings. I’m invested in the storyline thus far, but the sense of being spoon-fed every single last detail is beginning to become a nuisance. What happened to leaving somethings to the imagination? Well, I guess it can’t be helped. It’s Cline’s first novel. But then again, MUST THERE BE SO MUCH LANGUAGE???

Already, I can tell this narrator’s gonna get on my nerves.
