I'm invested, but I am missing the Valek/Yelena dynamic deeply. :( and I better not smell a love triangle on the horizon. *Gag*

I am obsessed with Valek's love for and admiration of Yelena. I am dying over this book. Him admiring the way she broke into his office, tried to find the antidote, and then hid behind the table? "Fun." GAHHH I can't!!! They are too precious!!!

I love being privvy to the inner workings of Valek's mind. Hehehe. Batting eyelashes, witty comments... what a treat.

Also, HIM FALLING FOR YELENA IS SO PRECIOUS--almost falling out of the tree because she SMILED at him? Ugh. Love this man.

I just lost all respect for Theo because he isn't leaving Kathy. Oh my days.

Inara... my goodness gravy, she is such an unrelatable, unbelievable, and unreliable narrator. I am still holding on for a twist!!! Please let there be a twist!!! Also loved it when Victor's partner put her in her place. That was extremely satisfying. :3

This is better than the first time I read it… interesting how our perspectives shift over time.

A bit slower of a read than Nothing to Envy, but still good so far.
