Yelena finally realized that she doesn't actually know best and that her constant "whatever, I do what I want" attitude has cost several people their lives. Will she actually learn anything from this?? I am begging for character growth

Made it through the first short story collection, "The Adventures if Sherlock Holmes" He really blows off the endings of these shorts a lot. "The bad guys disappeared and no ever heard from them again" happened A LOT.

Finished story two, "The Sign of the Four". The racism was a lot in that one.

Finished "A Study in Scarlett".

I finally finished the first book in this beast. Taking a break before I read the second one. Financially, I'm glad they published two books as one, but I'd still rather they be separate.

The first half was slow so I put this down for a few months. Second half has picked up a lot.

I keep having to take breaks, it's creeping me out!

I got to about this point in 2013 and gave up because Emma is such a jerk. It's rough!

Apparently, I never added most of the manga I've read. Correcting this oversight, but I'm sorry for your feed!

It's been a month with this book already and I'm struggling to get through it. Ugh but I'm far in to quit.

Mrs Mabb- 5/5 stars. Loved the story and the main character.

Lickerish Hill: 3/5 stars. Retelling of Rumplestiltskin that I would have enjoyed a lot more if the author hadn't done the dialect/spelling choices that she did. Also... The husband shouldn't have gotten away with his being terrible.

The Ladies of Grace Adieu: 5/5- I loved it! Lady magicians taking matters into their own hands is all I wanted. Plus, their interaction with Jonathan Strange was great.

Wow, Robert is *really* in to Victor. Also, the way Victor talks about Elizabeth is gross.

So. Much. Misogyny.

This is such a struggle.

I've been reading bits and pieces of this as research for various papers over the last six months. Realizing that I've read more half of it has prompted me to just sit down and finish it.

The friend who recommended this book did not tell me that extreme child harm was central to the plot.... now I'm basically only reading to see if the kid turns out okay. :/

I meant to finish this by Halloween... my new goal is to finish by Christmas. It was interesting until we left Jonathan and than it got boring fast.

I just got an Echo Dot and learned it can read any Kindle book I own aloud... this opens so many possibilities (because I don't want to pay for Audible).

I've stalled out in all of my reading for pleasure books, because their nonfiction and classics. Should've waited until after the paper writing weeks of my classes to start them. Right now I'm just craving something mindless and fun.

I've read over 1,000 pages in various text books and I'm kind of sad that they won't be added to my year end total since I didn't read the entire book. I'm actually going to add it all up at the end of the year just so I know though.

My class reading load is crushing me. CRUSHING ME.

Alright, I was supposed to have this entire book read a week ago, and its not going to happen. I've got to call it and throw this on the DNF list.

The reading load for my current class, European Colonialism, is so heavy. I don't think I'm going to get it all done. D :
