if i had a nickel for every book i’ve read this year with the protagonist being a queer male ne’er-do-well who is underwhelming in his achievements and ambitions, but has his own unique way of solving problems (but often drinks to cope with his irresponsibility), i would have two nickels.

this is so much better than the first book
