Finding it very hard to suspend my disbelief with this one 🫠

The reviews for this seem to be a mixed bag, and while I agree with the critics who say that the writing is not so good, I have to say, it’s not good in the way that it’s just really juvenile. Which, I can deal with. If it weren’t for the mature themes, a 13 year old could easily read this. All that being said, its plot is delightfully addictive and I’m enjoying it!

This could’ve been really really good, but the dialogue is so tedious

This is the first thing I’ve really loved in a while. The writing is gorgeous without being overly complicated, the plot is absolutely plotting, and the character work here is just chef’s 💋

“Between my two friends, Bonnie is objectively prettier. She has the silky blond hair and curvy body. But Gretchen has a very sweet face…”

I’m sorry, WHO thinks about their two best friends in this way? Already I hate our protagonist. She is very bitter towards her “friends” and everything she says to them or thinks about them pertains to their looks or relationships and is underhanded and condescending.
