Really good so far but in an "eugh!" kind of way. We're picking up speed as we careen towards the precipice, and we are about to fly off. Insane, can't wait for the inevitable crash landing. Making me cringe along the way. What is she doing?!?

The writing in this book is bad and the dialogue is absolutely unbelievable. Especially from a federal criminal investigator who says things like "okay, stop, shut up" and "the more weak shit like this you pull, the more I'm starting to think you're not the killer." I will finish but right now this is a very very low two star. **

Eh. Unnecessary sex scene and post-coital conversation giving real "man writing woman" vibes.

Ok, these newfound fast friends - where tf are all of their regular, actual friends? Am I supposed to believe (sans Freddie) that they're all loners with no friends before meeting each other at the library? I scoff.

It's only a 3 hour audiobook so I'm probably gonna finish it, but I am 30 minutes in and this book is NOT for me.

Using the name Paul for the mega-corporation is clever and disconcerting.

Unless the plot twist / reveal is stellar, this is sitting at a 2*.

I am stunned by the crazy romantic comedy plotline in the middle of this sci fi alt future. It's so silly, let's see where it ends.

Minus one star for homophobia

My profession touches on equity and recently a stakeholder asked me what does equity mean. I like the distinction in this quote from the book: "Equity means making access to opportunity easier, not deciding what opportunities they deserve."
