I Read this shortly after Careless People. Would recommend the combo in that order.

My word, audio was 45hrs. A lot of me “am I still listening to this book!?.” Not much happened outside history and world building and yet it was compelling enough to finish and make me want to listen to the next one (after a break). 🤷‍♀️

Worth reading/listening. Probably not life changing.

Second try giving this series a chance. Second try reading this book. The story definitely improved.

Sad to say goodbye to this series. I’ll miss the Soellmans.

5 stars. Add to all syllabi as mandatory reading.

Pretty soothing read with mild coverage of the atrocities of WWII (as compared to others of its genre). After I recovered from the shock that the novel was epistolary, I thoroughly enjoyed all the well mannered correspondence. Listener beware, it ends abruptly.
