Started out strong but kind of fizzled midway through. A bit of a slog to finish. A character map would have been helpful too - I kept needing to refer back to prior chapters to keep all the Kashpaws straight.

Excellent. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time. Great character development with a lot of human nature themes.

This was a very challenging read. I agree with other reviewers in that the first 60% of the book is especially challenging in that not a lot happens and the excessive wordiness made me consider bailing quite a bit, Definitely picked up at the 60% mark when Vivian begins her story. 2.5 stars overall - not great, can’t believe I finished this one

Definitely not the type of book I’d normally choose to read but it got good reviews and Libby had a long wait list. Pretty terrifying subject matter, especially since the bioterrorism premise is likely possible. This one has made for movie all over it - the chaotic scene in the warehouse with SpongeBob was a bit hard to follow in written form but would make a great action-packed scene if presented visually.

Meh. Somewhat predictable plot. Language and love scenes a little too harlequin romance. Many plot holes and character inconsistencies (Mother-in-law is a terrible rich over-the-top snob who somehow flips to MIL of the year with no real explanation.)

A little too detailed on the rowing but the story was interesting.

Started out good - typical Irving, my favorite author. Then it got hard to follow and boring - I had to return it to the library as my lend time was up - not sure I will get it again and finish it.
