The timing is all wrong in this book. Lola was born in 1920 so, now she's 85, the year must be 2005. Instagram didn't exist then.

I find the constant referral to using Instagram most annoying. If Lola was 20 in 1940 and she's 85 at the time of the trip, the book is set in 2005 which is well before Instagram existed. Facebook did exist but smart phones were in their infancy. The addiction the characters are said to have to them was nonsense in 2005, even in Australia. Monica is old enough to know better.
