John Cain is starting Bury Your Dead (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #6)
A very enjoyable read. An almost seamless telling of three tales with a bit of Quebec City history added in. Four stars,

John Cain is starting The Original Inspector George Gently Collection
I finished the first book, Gently Does It. The writing is very clean, no wasted words. I have watched all the TV episodes. This may be a case of the show exceeding the novels.

I set aside because I lost interest. Perhaps I will pick up again later.

John Cain is starting The Monkey's Raincoat (Elvis Cole, #1)
Crais has the wit of James Crumbly but not the lyricism. Definitely a book to read if you are interested in American Detective novels. This is the first book in the Series that is still going strong years later.

John Cain is finished with Knife (Harry Hole, #12)
I have to confess, I only made it half way through this book. I have read many Harry Hole books and other stand alone book by Nesbo. Maybe I am just worn out on Harry's ego and drunks. The plot seemed more contrived than usual. He is a very talented writer but I think h may have iced the Harry Hole sag for more than it worth.

John Cain is on page 170 of 384 of The Bard and the Bible: A Shakespeare Devotional
Not sure of the page number. I am on July 3. It is a daily reader that I started on January 1. It is not the most thoughtful of daily readers, but interesting to me. Each page has a quote from Shakespeare and one form the Bible. Interesting tidbits of information about the Bard.

John Cain
John Cain is on page 200 of 433 of Pontius Pilate
I am really not certain that this can be described as a biography. So much is unknown about Pilate, but it is a very interesting read about how people have preceived the fellow.

John Cain is on page 20 of 325 of The Informant (Butcher's Boy, #3)
This is the third book featuring the "Butcher Boy." The second book is "Sleeping Dogs." If you have not read these books and like good writing and mysterys I strongly suggest you give these a look.

John Cain is on page 232 of 363 of The Twelve Caesars
“Punishments were inflicted upon the Christians, a sect professing a new and mischievous superstition.” Suetonious p215 Penguin Edition. Twelve Caesars on the life of Nero. I just think that an interesting sentence.

He provides details that others in the name of giving the big picture overlook. As to whether these details are correct, I have no idea.
