I was just checking out the synopsis and before I know it, I'm over halfway through the book. I feel sorry for every other books that I skipped over on my TBR list.

Chapter 9 is kilig!

I love how MacKenna is always remembering/taking note of her dad's opinions on things. Like on this page: "Dad on soft-sided, canvas covers: Sucks during a Minnesota winter, princess." I am so digging this book but my reading phase is a bit rusty. Ugh, I hate that I'm a slow reader!

The narration of teeny secrets among MacKenna's family (her, her dad, her grandma, even her dead mom) feels so true-to-life.

Aww, I like Grandma Adele already.

Daniel's mom was described as a religious woman. I just can't reconcile in my mind how a religious woman would abandon her child then run off with a low-life.
