I will not be finishing this. I’m not enjoying the writer’s style nor point of view. Will skim enough of it to be able to participate in my book club’s meeting. Reads like a dense textbook. Would rather the author “stuck to the facts” instead of injecting opinion. Totally disappointed.

This is a dreary book. Not enthralled with the writing, and the story is barely inching along. Could be I'll DNF this but since I'm halfway through maybe I'll tough it out. Interesting that this is a fictionalized version of true events. That alone might make it worth finishing the book. We'll see...

I give up. I've been attempting to read this for two weeks but haven't gotten further than halfway through. There are too many other books to be read that will be more enjoyable than this one. I respect the effort and research by the author; it's just not for me.

This is a slog. “Dense” writing makes it a slow go. Words used have sent me to the dictionary a couple of times. Will continue to read and learn; reads like a scholarly textbook.
